Flywheels are what creates the resistance for the Quest line of products. Flywheels are completely interchangeable between product models. Flywheels are sold in a variety of sizes to accommodate different resistance ranges. Flywheels can be combined to allow more resistance options, or to increase resistance beyond the use of a singe XL wheel. Flywheels are made from solid steel and finished with a thick layer of powder coating. Grooves on the face of the wheels provide a griping surface to allow for easy loading onto the quest line of products.

Flywheel Selection Guide

Selecting Flywheels:

Use the top range force equivalence for each flywheel below as a reference when selecting flywheels.

  • XS (15 lbs)
  • S (30 lbs)
  • M (60 lbs)
  • L (120 lbs)
  • XL (250 lbs)

Actual resistance is created by the user and will be variable based on the velocity of your movements. However these values can be used as a guide to help select the range of flywheels necessary for your strengthening goals.

*Note: There is an additive effect when loading multiple flywheels on the machine at once. This can be used to tune resistance to match a desired movement velocity.

Flywheel Inertia Values

Flywheels Inertia:

Flywheels play a crucial role in providing resistance for users on the Quest series of products. Inertia is the measure of an object's resistance to changes in its motion, and it quantifies how much force is needed to accelerate or decelerate a wheel. Below, you'll find the inertia values for each wheel.

  • XS (.0067 kg*m^2)
  • S (.0075 kg*m^2)
  • M (.0149 kg*m^2)
  • L (.0298 kg*m^2)
  • XL (.0617 kg*m^2)

*Note: There is an additive effect when loading multiple flywheels on the machine at once. This can be used to tune resistance to match a desired movement velocity.
